HOME!!

That's right, tomorrow I will be home is Missouri with my dear family. I just can't hardly stand this waiting!! I should really be in bed right now (Dan's already there), but I'm just too excited to sleep. Today I finished off my duties at GMA for the year and tonight I packed up probably 3 times more than I really need (the benefit of driving rather than flying), did a bit of cleaning/picking up so I don't come home to a dirty house (I hate that), and then we loaded up the truck so all we have to do in the morning is get dressed and GO! Dan is so sweet and already made a bed for me in the backseat...after a year and half of marriage, he knows how well I do mornings :-) Our goal is to pull out of Nashville at 4:30am...which will put us in St. Louis by 9:30 just in time for me to wake up and have a nice breakfast at McD's. It's definitely not a bad way to travel!

Okay, I really should shut this thing down and call it a night. Not sure how good I'll be about blogging while I'm with my family, but I'm sure I'll have some good stories to tell when I do get back to this. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Sundays

I love Sundays. I get to kick off my day with worship and some time with the kiddos at church, then I get to spend the rest of the day RESTING (usually). Today I came home and fixed some Dilly Chicken Sandwhiches (one of my favorites) which we enjoyed with some friends. Dan & I usually take in a good amount of football on Sundays, and today was certainly no exception. Well, actually it was a sort of exception as today the Tennessee Titans played (my beloved) Kansas City Chiefs which meant one thing to me - I got to see them play for the first time all year! It was a momentous occassion, which is why our friends were joining us today as Hannah is also from Missouri and probably the only other Chiefs fan I have found since moving to Titan country. It was a glorious 3 hours as my tv screen was filled with red and gold - a delightful taste of home I've been missing for quite sometime now. The end result was rather disappointing, but hey - one can only ask for so much in a day.

(A couple pics from a KC game a couple years ago - my Christmas gift from my wonderful fiance at the time!)

Anyway, after the game I treated myself to a nap, which was delightful. And just before I started typing this, I painted my fingernails...I figured why not keep this pampering thing going! All that to say, it's been a wonderful Sunday and now here I sit enjoying Christmas music, my pretty Christmas lights, and anticipating my trip HOME to Missouri later this week. Ahh, I can just about smell the wood stove and cinnamon rolls from here (hint, hint Mom!). There really is nothing quite like family at Christmas time, and I am so very grateful that I will soon be with mine.

Day 3

Well, I've survived the weekend and am really doing quite well. As you can see, Dan's been busy making lots of smoothies, and I really think the ice cream has worked wonders for the swelling! Praise the Lord I don't have chipmunk cheeks! It's actually been somewhat of a relaxing weekend with a great excuse to do nothing but lay around. I've gotten quite a lot of reading done and realize how much I have missed that recently. I've slept a lot and even took in a little football here and there. All in all, it's been a pretty successful post-operative weekend. The worst part thus far has been that horrific syringe that's in the picture with all my drugs. I think it's more the thought of it than anything because it really didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. It just took a whole lot of coaxing on Dan's part to get that thing in my mouth! I don't have much else to report, but thought I might throw up a picture or two to give you all an update.
