This past weekend, we had the opportunity to go to Atlanta for a few days, and boy did we have a GREAT time! Dan had a PA conference, so Caroline & I decided to tag along for the ride and do our own thing during the day while Daddy was in classes. We walked all over downtown Atlanta, enjoying Olympic Park, The Children's Museum, a fabulous playground we found for little ones, and also just roaming around our hotel (in fact, that may very well have been Caroline's favorite part!). In the evenings, we got to do a few things with Daddy, too, and enjoyed eating out at several...interesting...restaurants. I thought you all might enjoy a few pictures, so here you go! (By the way, I updated some things on blogger and it has completely changed the way I upload pictures...so this time they all showed up in reverse order. I'll get this figured out eventually)
Enjoying the decor at Pitty Pat's Porch, the oldest restaurant in all of Atlanta (let's just say, I believe that)
Caroline had a BALL at the Children's Museum. Here she is sculpting some sand.
Showing off her fabulous rhythm.
Just like Papa!
She fell in love with this fishing pond. After we had done this, nothing else seemed quite as interesting.
My little ladybug, ready to fish!
Quite the architect
She probably would have spent the entire time in this kitchen area if I had let her. She washed dishes, cooked food in the microwave & oven, put things in and out of the refrigerator...the girl was in heaven. You know, if I had a kitchen this large in comparison to myself, I'd probably be in heaven too!
A little grocery shopping before she got started with her cooking.
This was one evening at another restaurant. She was very serious about the coloring.
Just us girls.
She's recently learned how to give real hugs, and we just can't get enough! She has lots of squeezes for Dadden.
A thoughtful lady offered to snap this picture of all 3 of us in Olympic Park - can't remember the last picture we have of all of us!
Caroline & the fountains dancing to the music
If you look closely, the fountains shoot out of the Olympic rings. Very cool!
Just hanging out in our hotel room. We had very cool, large windows with a little window seat/ledge that CJ thoroughly enjoyed.
My big girl having a snack in the lounge. She even drank her juice right out of a real glass - she's very classy.
All in all, it was so much fun and quite exhausting for Mama. I had brought several things to do during nap times since I knew I'd be stuck in the room with her for awhile, but instead I just took some nice naps myself. Just what this pregnant girl needed :) I was very grateful that the nausea seemed to let up for me as well, and I was able to enjoy the eating out. So glad we got to go, and hopefully we can do it again sometime!

Pitty Pat's Porch makes me think of the Buffalo Lodge! Great pictures. Looks like she really had a ball. The "Police" one is hilarious!
So glad you got to go with Dan on the trip. It's nice to go to new places and explore and get those really cute pics of cute kids (CJ). Looks like it was a lot of fun. She really is growing up fast. And congrats on little Johnston #2. I know what you mean about blogs. I want to try to keep updated and I even thought of a fun thing to do Thursdays. But then we were gone so I already failed there. :) Anyway, tell Dan congrats, too, and say hi to the Johnston grandparents when you see them. love and hugs
Good stuff. Thanks for putting them up.
